Privacy Policy
Juzzle Puzzles is a daily puzzle game. This policy explains what information we collect when you use it, why, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language.
1. The short version
- We collect only what we need to run your daily puzzles: your name, email, password (stored as a one-way hash), puzzle preferences and progress.
- No ads, no data sales, no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
- Reminder emails are opt-in and every one has a one-click unsubscribe.
- Juzzle is for adults 18 and over.
- You can delete your account yourself, any time, under Settings → Account. It erases your data.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, password (we never see or store it in readable form), your confirmation that you are 18 or older, and the invite code you used.
- Preferences: difficulty, reading level, favorite puzzle types, time zone, reminder choices, and display settings such as theme, text size, sound and motion.
- Feedback you send us, including which page or puzzle you were on.
Information created as you play
- Your daily puzzle sets, the answers you submit, attempts, hints, skips, how long puzzles took, XP, level, streaks and badges.
- If you play the Daily Spotlight before signing up, we keep that day's attempts under a random anonymous ID so we can credit them to your account if you join.
Information collected automatically
- Sign-in sessions, including the IP address and browser type (user agent) of the device you signed in from.
- First-party product events such as “puzzle solved” or “Daily Five completed”, used to understand whether the game works and to fix problems. These are stored in our own database, not sent to an analytics company.
- Records of emails we send you (type, subject, content, delivery status) and whether you clicked the button in a reminder.
- Server error logs, which may include technical details of a failed request.
3. How we use it
- To provide the service: sign you in, create your daily puzzles, save progress across devices, and keep your streak.
- To send account emails (email confirmation, password reset, welcome) and — only if you turn them on — daily reminders and occasional “come back” nudges.
- To improve puzzle quality, fix bugs, keep the service secure, and prevent abuse.
- To understand beta engagement in aggregate (for example, how many players finish a Daily Five).
4. Email and reminders
Reminders are opt-in. You choose to receive them during setup or in Settings, and we only send them to confirmed email addresses. We send at most one reminder a day, and none on days you've already finished your Daily Five. If you stop playing for a few days we may send a gentle “fresh puzzles are waiting” note at most once a week, and we stop after two go unanswered.
Every reminder includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can switch reminders off in Settings at any time. Account emails (such as password resets) will still be sent when needed.
7. How long we keep it, and deleting your account
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account yourself in Settings → Account (you'll confirm with your password). Deleting permanently removes your profile, preferences, puzzle history, streaks, badges, sign-in sessions, product events and email history.
Two things can remain: feedback you sent (kept so we can fix what you reported, but no longer linked to you), and copies in our providers' routine backups, which expire on their own schedule. Anonymous aggregate statistics that can't identify you may also remain.
8. Your choices and rights
- Update your name, preferences and time zone in Settings.
- Turn reminders off in Settings or with the unsubscribe link in any reminder.
- Delete your account in Settings → Account.
- Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it, using the contact details below.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws (such as access, deletion, correction, portability, or to object to certain processing). Contact us and we'll honor them as the law requires. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.
9. Security
Passwords are stored using a one-way hash and never in readable form. Connections to Juzzle are encrypted in transit, answers and scoring are handled on our servers, and access to administrative tools is restricted to authorized team members. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password. If we learn of a breach affecting your information we will notify you as required by law.
10. Age requirement
Juzzle is intended for people 18 and older, and you confirm this when you sign up. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Where information is processed
Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. By using Juzzle you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those places, which may have different data-protection laws than where you live.
12. Changes to this policy
As the beta evolves we may update this policy. We'll change the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
